New Trends in Credit Cards

Identity Theft is a recurring theme in fear of using credit cards and/or doing online shopping. CIBC launched CreditSmart, an online portal that allows customers to track their spending, and be notified via e-mail about potential fraud using their identity.

A really useful feature is the budgeting piece, it allows you to track your spending by category, find out the difference from the budget, and even get an alert if you go over. While everyone says their New Years resolution is to "stop wasting money", some people can actually put that into action using this tool!

CIBC has definitely launched a tool that'd benefit its customers~

While we're on the topic of identity theft, there's a product that could possibly be in everyone's wallet. It's an one time password generator embedded in a credit card. Visa USA has been talking with InCard, but we'll see where that goes~
